Disney Sued by Former ‘Muppet Babies’ Writer Over Reboot

Jeffrey Scott, who wrote most of the scripts for the 1980s “Muppet Babies” animated TV series, sued Walt Disney Co. in federal court in Los Angeles Thursday allegedly the company incorporated his ideas into its 2018 reboot without permission.

Scott says he a wrote a “production bible” in the early ‘80s that “created the show’s nursery setting, the child versions of the characters, the mix of entertainment and education, and the blueprint for its stories.” The complaint says he let Marvel Productions Ltd. use it in exchange for a fixed payment per script, royalties, a “Developed for Television By” credit, ...
