Disney, Hulu Knock Out Two Streaming Patents at Tribunal

The Walt Disney Co. convinced an administrative tribunal to invalidate two WAG Acquisition LLC media streaming patents that it and a pair of other big tech companies, Google LLC and Amazon.com Inc., have been sued for allegedly infringing.

WAG’s US Patent Nos. 9,762,636 and 9,742,824 covering a “streaming media delivery system” are unpatentable and obvious in light of two prior patents, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board ruled in two decisions issued Wednesday.
