Dish, Sling Sue Patreon Over Patented Video-Streaming Technology

Dish Technologies LLC and Sling TV LLC accused Patreon Inc. of using their patented technology that allows for smooth streaming regardless of connection speeds without permission.

Dish and Sling, both subsidiaries of EchoStar Corp., said in a complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Delaware that Patreon’s app, website, and servers use adaptive bitrate streaming technology that infringes US Patent Nos. 11,991,234, 8,868,772, 11,677,798, and 11,470,138.
