Dish Copyright Suit Hits Network Provider Over Pirate Services

Dish Network LLC accused a virtual network provider of infringing its copyrights by hosting pirate streaming services on its network, in a federal lawsuit.

Virtual Systems LLC and its CEO Vyacheslav Smyrnov, through its data center and servers in the Seattle area, allowed those pirate services to stream unauthorized copies of programs the satellite company exclusively licensed from international channels to air in the US, according to the complaint filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
