Digital Rights Group Takes on Patent-Suit Secrecy in East Texas

The Electronic Frontier Foundation is seeking to join an East Texas lawsuit over cable-internet technology as part of the digital-rights organization’s yearslong quest to promote transparency in patent cases, where sealing or redaction of filings is commonplace.

The nonprofit moved Wednesday to intervene in a recently settled case involving Charter Communications Inc. and Entropic Communications LLC in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
