DET Diesel Emission Technologies LLC and Synergy Catalyst LLC, working under the trade name Recore, allegedly told a Texas-based DPF Alternatives LCC franchisee their diesel equipment was protected by a patent in an attempt to enter financing contracts.
DPF Alternatives of Texas LLC alleged Recore agreed to exclusively provide its patented equipment to it in its region, in a complaint filed Monday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. DPF said it later realized no patent protects the licensed diesel technology, and Recore didn’t intend to give the company exclusivity.
