Wedding dress designer Hayley Paige Gutman was ordered to pay almost $118,000 in attorneys’ fees to her former employer JLM Couture Inc. in a long-running trademark dispute over the rights to an Instagram account bearing 1.1 million followers.
The award was based on US District Judge Laura Taylor Swain’s prior ruling that Gutman willfully violated a preliminary injunction order that prevented her from using her name and the “Hayley Paige Bridal” brand on the account.
