According to the March 11 complaint docketed Tuesday, Delta Hotels operated solely in Canada when Marriott acquired it in 2015, but Marriott “rapidly expanded” the chain into the U.S. and changed the font and color scheme of its trademarks to look more like Delta’s.
Delta said Marriott has branded certain Delta Hotels as “airport” hotels and uses the allegedly infringing marks on its airport shuttles, making confusion more likely.
