Delta, American Settle ‘Flagship’ Trademark Suit on Eve of Trial

Delta Air Lines Inc. and American Airlines Inc. settled their dispute over Delta’s alleged use of American’s “Flagship” trademark the day before trial.

American accused Delta of infringing its registered trademark that it claims it has used since the 1930s, in a late 2019 lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Delta said it only used the term as a descriptive term, not a trademark. It sought to have American’s mark canceled for being generic.
