The Department of Defense shook off a Texas company’s request for an injunction requiring it to grant a trademark license for the company to sell dog tags bearing Bible verses.
Shields of Strength failed to show that it’s likely to succeed on its claims that the military’s trademark licensing program violates its rights to free speech, free exercise of religion, or its rights under the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, Judge J. Campbell Barker of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas ruled May 5.
