The owners of rival Deaf poetry and storytelling events settled a lawsuit in New York federal court over the use of an “ASL Slam” trademark.
Doug Ridloff and ASL Slam Inc. reached an agreement with Anne Marie “Jade” Bryan over her company Jade Films and Entertainment LLC’s alleged infringement, according to a Nov. 18 filing in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. Ridloff, an artist and American Sign Language consultant, claimed he‘s used the mark for poetry and storytelling events since 2005.
