Washington, DC, failed to fully escape a constitutional challenge to its ban on large-capacity magazines that carry more than 10 rounds of ammunition.
Three of the four DC-area residents who brought the suit lack standing to challenge the ban, but one demonstrated a concrete injury by being denied a registration certificate for a firearm, the US District Court for the District of Columbia said Monday.
Judge Rudolph Contreras also rejected the district’s “overly narrow framing” of Tyler Yzaguirre’s injury to limit the scope of his claims to that single registration denial.
