The songwriter who crafted Led Zeppelin’s 1969 song “Dazed and Confused” sued the band’s guitarist Jimmy Page , alleging copyright infringement by exploiting the composition including in a new documentary.
Page and Warner Chappell Music Corp. have been licensing the song despite acknowledging in a 2011 settlement agreement that Holmes wrote and owns it, according to the complaint filed Monday by Jake Holmes in the US District Court for the Central District of California. The defendants falsely credit Page as the songwriter, just as Led Zeppelin did in 1969, the complaint said.
