DataWidget Patent Axed by Arizona Court as Covering Abstract Idea

USADATA Inc. won its challenge to a DataWidget LLC patent in an Arizona federal court, which found the patent invalid because it simply computerized the concept of direct mailers.

Judge Douglas Rayes in the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona said DataWidget’s U.S. Patent No. 10,102,557 is directed to the idea of exchanging information between a printing service and a data vendor.
