Two DataTreasury Corp. patents on pulling data from check images are invalid, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit ruled Oct. 13 (DataTreasury Corp. v. Fidelity Nat’l Info. Svcs., 2016-1046).
The court affirmed, without opinion, decisions by the Patent Trial and Appeal Board that all the claims were ineligible for patenting under the recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Alice Corp. Pty Ltd. v. CLS Bank Int’l.
