The Federal Circuit upheld a decision invalidating a Dali Wireless Inc. patent covering an antenna system for a wireless network, putting a multimillion-dollar jury award in question.
The three-judge panel of the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Wednesday affirmed an administrative tribunal’s finding nixing 16 claims from Dali’s US Patent No. 9,531,473.
The appellate ruling was the latest development in a fight between Dali and CommScope Technologies LLC that began in 2016 with a Dallas patent suit that ultimately featured accusations of infringement from both sides in addition to the PTAB challenge.
