Crocs Sues Joybees Over Stolen Trade Secrets by Former Manager

Shoemaker Crocs Inc. sued competitor Joybees LLC for stealing trade secrets and confidential business information after a former Crocs manager allegedly took “several thousand documents” and recruited Crocs employees to help create Joybees.

Crocs first sued Joybees over the alleged theft of documents in 2021and that suit is ongoing. The complaint filed on Thursday concerns “additional forms of theft” relating to specification standards and test methods for foam shoe materials.

Kellen McCarvel, who worked at Crocs as a midlevel merchandise manager, downloaded documents and emails to a folder on his work computer called “Take” before leaving the company in 2018, ...
