Courts Not a Casino, Says Judge Seeking Third-Party Transparency

A Delaware federal judge plans to enhance his transparency-boosting measures targeting litigation financing, months after he cracked down on companies running afoul of his current standard.

“I don’t believe our courts are casinos where people should just go to profit,” said Chief Judge Colm F. Connolly during the Silicon Valley IP Conference at Stanford Law School. “I think that’s bad for the system and I think it undermines the importance of our courts.”
