Court Temporary Halts Some Renault Sales in Germany: Wiwo (1)

  • Until further notice, Renault is not allowed to sell its Megane and Clio models in Germany, Munich 1 Regional Court ruled yesterday, based on a patent infringement lawsuit filed by Broadcom, Wirtschaftswoche reports, citing a person present at the pronouncement.
  • Cars must be recalled and then destroyed, the person said
  • Broadcom sued Renault for infringing one of its Ethernet patents
    • In the Clio model, the navigation system is connected via an unlicensed network cable connection, and in the Megane, the telematics control unit is connected in the same way
  • Ruling will only be enforced ...
