Court Recommends Lord & Taylor Contempt Order in Gucci Case

Gucci America Inc. deserves a contempt order against the remnants of the department store Lord & Taylor after a default ruling in a counterfeit case, a magistrate judge recommended.

Online retailer Lord & Taylor Ecomm LLC’s noncompliance should result in an order for US Marshals to confiscate infringing items at its New Jersey address, US District Court for the Southern District of New York Magistrate Judge Robyn F. Tarnofsky recommended April 11. She said not complying with—or even responding to—unambiguous instructions to send Gucci infringing items or proof of their destruction justified the order.
