Court Got Death Threats in Abortion Pill Fight, Judge Says (1)

A federal district court judge in Texas, who tried to conceal an upcoming hearing in a hot button fight over an abortion pill, told attorneys he didn’t want to further publicize the proceedings because the court has gotten death threats, and harassing phone calls and voicemails.

During a March 10 telephone conference hearing, Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk asked attorneys “as a courtesy” not to further advertise or tweet any of the details of a March 15 hearing he was scheduling, according to a transcript of the proceedings.
