Court Affirms Ruling Axing Former Employee’s Trade Secret Claims

A fired employee who accused his former employer of trade secrets misappropriation failed to meet the minimum standards to properly safeguard the alleged secrets, the Tenth Circuit ruled, affirming a lower court’s decision axing two claims against the company.

John Snyder, the plaintiff-appellant, failed to sufficiently allege federal and Colorado trade secret law violations against Beam Technologies Inc. over a list of 40,000 insurance brokers Snyder compiled from his previous employer, according to the opinion filed Tuesday in the US Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.
