Founders of high-end sneaker company Courser Athletics Inc., won dismissal, for now, of copyright claims by a co-founder and shoe designer because the allegations are too vague.
John Kraljevich brought claims of vicarious and contributory copyright infringement against co-founders Michael Petry, Courser’s chief executive officer, and Laurie Spiro, who is a designer for the company.
The complaint is insufficient because the allegations, “which broadly cast liability on the part of all defendants, fail to attribute specific actions to defendants Petry or Laurie Spiro,” Judge Allison D. Burroughs of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said.
