CoStar Agrees to Shift Copyright Suit to Zillow’s Seattle Home

Zillow Group Inc. convinced a New York federal court to shift online real estate listing competitor CoStar Group Inc.‘s copyright case cross-country to Washington state, as the plaintiff declined to oppose the move.

CoStar told the court that it chose not to oppose the move “in light of new information” from Zillow suggesting the case would more efficiently be conducted in Seattle, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York’s transfer order said. CoStar pointed to newly identified Seattle-based witnesses, its own experience litigating in the Ninth Circuit, and other practical advantages, the order said.
