Corning Wins Bid to Ban Imports of Rival Fiber-Optic Equipment

Corning won an order to blocking U.S. imports of rival high-density fiber optic equipment after the International Trade Commission affirmed a judge’s findings that Corning Optical’s patent rights were violated.

  • An ITC judge in March found that FS.com, Leviton, Panduit, LAN Wirewerks, and Siemon were infringing at least three of four Corning patents in the case
  • Corning sought -- and received -- a wide-ranging order that would block imports of any unauthorized equipment, saying many of the rival products are sold with generic packaging and private label services
