Corning Optical Sues Leviton Over Fiber-Optic Equipment Patents

Corning said Leviton’s Opt-X UHDX system infringes four patents related to high-density fiber-optic equipment used in data centers.

  • Corning seeks lost profits, a reasonable royalty and court orders blocking Leviton from further unauthorized use of the inventions, according to complaint filed Wednesday in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware
  • Patents cover aspects of Corning’s Edge fiber-optic equipment with two main components, an enclosure and cassettes inserted into it
