Copyright, Patent Claims Advance Over AI Dental Diagnostic Tool

AI dental software company VideaHealth Inc. must face copyright and patent theft claims brought by competitor Overjet Inc., a federal judge ruled.

Overjet “adequately pled that the combination of colors, shades, and shapes” of a visualization tool it created is original enough to bring a copyright suit, and its design choices are more than just functional, Judge Allison D. Burroughs wrote in a March 28 opinion denying VideaHealth’s motion to dismiss in the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
