Online news publishers would be eligible for a new US Copyright Office group registration option aimed at making it easier to seek protections for frequently-updated websites under a proposed rule set to be published Wednesday.
The proposed rulemaking would permit publishers to apply to register up to one month’s worth of updates by depositing “identifying material representing sufficient portions of the works” rather than submitting the complete contents of the website for each update.
