Copyright Case Over Car Photos on Tumblr Revived by Ninth Cir.

Verizon Media Inc. must return to California federal court after the Ninth Circuit revived an automotive stock photo company’s copyright claims involving its images used on microblogging site Tumblr and Yahoo Autos.

Evox Productions LLC sufficiently alleged both that Verizon stored the images on its servers and displayed them on Tumblr and Yahoo Autos after a license to do so expired, the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said.
