A Florida state-created online education provider failed to show a private-sector rival infringed its trademarks, a Florida federal court said in a long-running feud that has reached a federal appeals court and the Florida Supreme Court.
Florida Virtual School, an internet-based entity established by the state legislature, failed to show that K12 Inc.'s “Florida Online School” trademark would confuse consumers, the US District Court for the Middle District of Florida said in an opinion Tuesday.
