Commerce Directs Staff to Answer Musk’s Work Email—Internally

The US Commerce Department instructed employees at its bureaus and offices to provide a short list of accomplishments as directed in the Office of Personnel Management’s Saturday email, but to send it only to their direct managers.

Staff at agencies including the US Patent and Trademark Office received an email Monday afternoon from Jeremy Pelter, the deputy assistant secretary for administration, saying, “information must be provided to your first-line supervisor at Commerce,” according to a copy reviewed by Bloomberg Law and confirmed by a second person familiar with the email.
