Columbia Sportswear Sues Seirus, Ventex For Patent Challenge Fraud

Columbia Sportswear North America Inc. is accusing winter gear maker Seirus Innovative Accessories Inc. and fabric company Ventex Co. Ltd. of conspiring to bring fraudulent patent challenges against its glove-lining patents.

Columbia sued Seirus and Ventex Jan. 29 in U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon for conspiring to commit fraud, abusing court process, and violating federal and Oregon state racketeering laws.
