Columbia Pictures Industries Inc. agreed to settle its movie rights lawsuit against writers behind the “Bad Boys” movie franchise, according to a federal court filing.
The production company sued writers George Gallo, Robert Israel, and Gallo’s loan-out company Sweet Revenge Productions, in June last year, citing its decades-old copyright agreement to adapt the story “Bulletproof Hearts.” The parties are now moving to dismiss the case and will bear their own attorneys’ costs, according to the motion filed by Gallo on June 14 in the US District Court for the Central District of California.
