Coachella Sues Safety Shot Over Tying ‘Bogus’ Promo to Festival

Safety Shot Inc. used Coachella Music Festival LLC’s name in a “bogus” press release suggesting an affiliation with its purported hangover cure, the concert producer told a California federal court in a trademark lawsuit.

Coachella alleged Saftey Shot falsely claimed it’d have a “brand activation” that would be a highlight at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in April, according to the complaint filed Friday in the US District Court for the Central District of California. The release trades on Coachella’s goodwill and puts the festival’s reputation at risk, it said.
