Coach Wins $1.6 Million Damages From Wallet, Bag Counterfeiters

The company that makes Coach luxury leather goods and accessories won default judgments worth $1.6 million against three Colorado counterfeiters that failed to respond to the manufacturer’s trademark-infringement complaints.

Judge Nina Y. Wang awarded Tapestry Inc. and its Coach affiliates damages and permanent injunctions blocking HannStar Trading Co. Ltd, Leslie Trading Inc., and Din Metel Inc. from importing or selling items bearing fake Coach trademarks, in an order filed Dec. 12 in US District Court for the District of Colorado.
