Cloudflare Inc. convinced the Patent Trial and Appeal Board to review the validity of a data transmission patent—one of several patents Cloudflare has put a “bounty” on.
Cloudflare, a San Francisco, Calif.-based software company, showed claims in Sable Networks Inc.’s U.S. Patent No. 6,977,932 are likely invalid because they were made obvious by earlier inventions, the PTAB said in a Tuesday decision.
Sable Networks and Sable IP LLC sued Cloudflare in March for allegedly infringing four patents, including the ‘932. The patent relates to technology that helps speed the flow of network traffic over computer networks, Sable said in ...
