Cloudflare Inc. partially won its bid to cancel claims in a Sable Networks Inc. communications patent, when an administrative tribunal ruled that most but not all challenged claims do not deserve patent protection.
In a mixed decision Tuesday, the Patent Trial and Appeal Board said all but four challenged claims in US Patent No. 8,243,593—which covers a mechanism for “identifying and penalizing misbehaving flows in a network"—are invalid in light of previous publications.
