Cisco Sees Final Judgment Filed for $65.7 Million Patent Loss

A Texas judge cemented a $65.7 million jury verdict against Cisco Systems Inc. for infringing Paltalk Holdings Inc.’s patent by placing its protected hybrid audio server technology into conferencing products.

Cisco infringed US Patent No. 6,683,858 and didn’t prove the protected method was invalid, according to a final judgment filed Tuesday in the US District Court for the Western District of Texas. Judge Alan Albright awarded Paltalk post-judgment interest with a daily rate to be calculated at a later date.
