Cisco Hit With Patent Lawsuit Over Encrypted Traffic Analytics

Several Cisco Systems Inc. network hardware and software products infringe a pair of patents covering the “dynamic management of private data,” according to a Texas lawsuit.

QPrivacy USA LLC sued Cisco in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas Monday, alleging infringement of US Patent Nos. 11,106,824 and 11,816,249 through its Encrypted Traffic Analytics technology.

The complaint alleges the patents relate to managing private data during network communications between a remote server and a user device. It claims Cisco’s products analyze encrypted data traffic without decrypting the underlying data, as covered by the patents.
