Cincom Loses Trade Secret Case Appeal for Delayed Software Probe

Software company Cincom Systems Inc. waited too long to investigate concerns a rival stole trade secrets and failed to provide the copyrighted code it said was ripped off, the Sixth Circuit affirmed.

Cincom was on “inquiry notice” in 2014 because it had reason to investigate further whether LabWare Inc. stole proprietary software, but didn’t dig deeper until 2019, the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit said.
