Church Sues to Enforce Proud Boys Trademark Won After Vandalism

A historic Black church that won “Proud Boys” trademark rights from the far-right group in a vandalism suit filed a new complaint over its continued use, setting up the first legal test of whether such an unusual court-ordered trademark transfer can be enforced.

The Hudson Valley Proud Boys Chapter in New York uses the “Proud Boys” term on its website for promotion, recruitment and merchandise sales, the Metropolitan African Methodist Episcopal Church told the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
