Charter Pushes for Transfer of High-Speed Internet Patent Suit

Charter Communications Inc. told a federal judge a patent owner can’t sue it for patent infringement in Texas because it doesn’t offer the accused high-speed internet services or conduct other business activities in the state.

Adaptive Spectrum and Signal Alignment Inc.’s lawsuit acknowledges Charter isn’t based in Texas, according to a redacted motion to dismiss filed Monday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
