Charter Defeats Touchstream TV Streaming Tech Patent Lawsuit (1)

Charter Communications Inc. beat Touchstream Technologies Inc.’s patent infringement lawsuit concerning methods allowing users to stream video to devices.

Charter and its units didn’t infringed US Patent Nos. 8,356,251, 11,048,751, 11,086,934 by allowing customers to send media to devices when using the Spectrum TV Mobile app through Charter servers or on Charter set-top boxes running certain guides, the jury determined Friday in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.

Counsel for Touchstream had suggested during closing arguments the jury should award at least $446 million in damages for Charter’s infringement.
