Charlotte’s Web CBD Maker Sues Rival Over Trademarks

The maker of the popular Charlotte’s Web line of cannabidiol products sued another company in San Francisco federal court for allegedly using the same name on its own CBD products.

“Charlotte’s Web” is a protectable brand name, not a term to describe a specific strain of hemp, the complaint said.

Charlotte’s Web Inc. was named for five-year-old Charlotte Figi, whose parents used the company’s CBD oil to treat her epilepsy.
