The charity Kars 4 Kids Inc. was unable to beat a $10.6 million verdict in New Jersey federal court by arguing fellow charity America Can! took too long to bring trademark infringement claims over the phrase “Cars for Kids.”
The June 10 ruling comes after the US Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit asked the trial court last year to reconsider evidence that American Can’s claims were barred by the legal doctrine known as laches.
