The motion to dismiss of the founder of Mediavo Inc. for improper venue, in Spigot Inc.'s trade secrets action, was denied by a federal district court in Florida. The court noted that Spigot has alleged that the founder obtained the trade secrets, confidential strategies, and customer lists at issue and that he and Mediavo are now using them to directly compete with Spigot in Florida, which is the basis for both misappropriation claims and, therefore, a substantial part of the underlying events.
