Case: Trade Secrets/Misappropriation (N.D. Ill.)

May 16, 2019, 9:56 PM UTC

Travis Gustafson’s motion to dismiss Happ’s Inc.'s claim for violation of the Illinois Trade Secrets Act is denied. Happ’s made reasonable efforts to maintain the secrecy of its pricing information, master service agreements, employee handbook, and Federal Railroad Administration compliance plans. Although Happs does not allege that it used secure document storage, surveillance cameras, specialized computer codes, or other security measures, Gustafson has not established that such measures are required to state a claim. The case is Happ’s Inc. v. Gustafson, 2019 BL 176616, N.D. Ill., No. 18-cv-4135, 5/15/19.
