Case: Patents/Summary Judgment (Fed. Cir.)

The Federal Circuit affirmed the decision of the District of Minnesota granting Tricam Industries Inc. summary judgment on Little Giant Ladder Systems LLC’s action for infringement of a patent that discloses a multi-position ladder with two sets of rails and a locking mechanism. The appeals court determined that the district court didn’t err in its claim construction, in its finding of no literal infringement, or in its rejection of Little Giant’s theory of preclusion under the doctrine of equivalents.
