A federal district court in Delaware granted Davavant Inc.'s motion to dismiss Management Science Associates Inc.'s action for the infringement of its patent for systems and methods for de-identifying client records. The court ruled that the patent is invalid due to its patent-ineligible subject matter. According to the court, the patent’s claims are directed to the abstract idea of collecting, labeling, and manipulating data and do not contain any inventive concept.
