The Federal Circuit dismissed Dolby Laboratories Licensing Corporation’s appeal from the decision of the Patent Trial and Appeal Board finding that claims of a patent directed to a prediction method using an in-loop filter aren’t unpatentable, in an inter partes review by United Patents LLC. The court determined that Dolby failed to establish an injury in fact sufficient to confer standing to appeal the decision that Unified was the sole real party in interest.
